The User Agent Accessibility Guidelines Working Group (UAWG) has published updated Working Drafts of the User Agent Accessibility Guidelines (UAAG) 2.0 and Implementing UAAG 2.0.
The purpose of UAAG 2.0 is to provide guidance to developers on how technologies such as web browsers and media players should support accessibility for people with disabilities, and work with assistive technologies. The updates have endeavoured to include more support for mobile devices and their input methods including speech, touch, and gesture use.
UAAG is particularly significant as other web accessibility standards rely heavily on the effective implementation of accessibility in the web browser. Further information can be found in the call for review e-mail and comments can be submitted until 9 November 2012.
